Clinical Research
The Foundation for Orthopaedic Research and Education (FORE) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was founded in 1999 by the surgeons at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute (FOI). FORE was established as a way to improve the care of patients with musculoskeletal disorders through research and education. While FORE operates independently from FOI, there is constant collaboration with FOI physicians on numerous research and education endeavors. The clinical research department conducts orthopaedic clinical trials in such sub-specialties as hand, foot, ankle, knee, hip, spine, elbow, shoulder and sports medicine.

Biomechanical Research
The Phillip Spiegel Orthopaedic Research Laboratory at the Foundation for Orthopaedic Research and Education (FORE) is dedicated to the discovery of new and novel treatments, as well as the improvement of current treatment methodologies in orthopaedics. The Research Lab utilizes collaboration between different subspecialties of biomedical engineers and physicians to perform various biomechanical evaluation including: synthetic bone testing, cadaver testing, computer simulations and finite element modeling. Additionally, using advanced prototyping techniques, we are able to assist surgeons in pre-surgical planning through anatomical bone modeling.
