FORE’s Orthopaedic Trauma Conferences Scheduled for 2020

Orthopaedic Trauma Conferences 2020Whether caused by a fall, sports-related collision, disaster, or accident, orthopaedic trauma involves some of the most challenging cases addressed by orthopaedic surgeons and other orthopaedic healthcare professionals. To provide practitioners with an opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skillset with the latest information available, the Foundation for Orthopaedic Research and Education (FORE) is offering several orthopaedic trauma conferences in 2020.

These conferences will explore new evidence-based treatments, innovative technologic breakthroughs, current controversies, and other trends in orthopaedic trauma. With conferences offered in top destinations across the country at different times throughout the year, FORE’s conference schedule includes ample educational opportunities for practitioners who manage orthopaedic trauma patients.

10th Annual Orthopaedic Trauma & Fracture Care: Pushing the Envelope (January 9 – 11 — San Diego, California)

Taught by nationally renowned leaders in orthopaedic trauma, the Orthopaedic Trauma & Fracture Care conference will update attendees on topics such as the advantages and disadvantages of various treatment approaches, current controversies in trauma and fracture care, and strategies for surgeon wellness and burnout prevention. Concurrent breakout sessions make the course suitable for physical therapists and advanced practice professionals as well as orthopaedic surgeons. The conference features sessions on the following topics:

  • Upper extremity trauma
  • Lower extremity trauma
  • Managing emergencies
  • Business management
  • Surgeon coaching

In addition, hands-on workshops will give participants the opportunity to familiarize themselves with new techniques and technologies under the supervision of expert surgeons.

11th Annual Atlanta Trauma Symposium (April 16 – 18 — Atlanta, Georgia)

The Atlanta Trauma Symposium is intended to enhance the surgical competency of general orthopaedic surgeons and mid-level providers who perform fracture care. The conference will cover current recommendations for many hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, ankle, foot, knee, and hip procedures through a series of didactic lectures, case presentations, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops. Specific topics that this orthopaedic trauma conference will explore in 2020 include:

  • Carpal injuries
  • Scaphoid fractures
  • Arthrodesis techniques
  • Lisfranc and forefoot injuries
  • Patella fractures
  • Knee dislocations
  • Advances in orthopaedic radiology

18th Annual Current Solutions in Orthopaedic Trauma (November 13 – 15 — Tampa, Florida)

Held at FORE’s state-of-the-art FIVE Labs facility – featuring up to 30 fully equipped surgical stations for hands-on workshops – the Current Solutions in Orthopaedic Trauma conference gives orthopaedic surgeons the opportunity to learn about new treatments for upper and lower extremity trauma. Topics of discussion in past years have included:

  • Humeral shaft fractures
  • Distal radius fractures
  • Distal femur fractures
  • Periprosthetic fractures
  • Tibial plateau fractures
  • Tibial shaft fractures
  • Foot and ankle fractures
