Accomodations & Travel Information

The Continuing Medical Education department reviews and approves all expense reimbursement requests. Speakers/Authors are instructed not to accept reimbursement from commercial supporters on the faculty invite. Reimbursement must be itemized and requested in writing (expense form) with original receipts for expenses within 30 days post activity. All requests for reimbursement are subject to audit by the Continuing Medical Education Director.

  • Hotel:

    Faculty hotel nights, for those traveling out of state, are applied to the activity master account and reservations will be made for each faculty arrival of Friday, July 22 and departing Sunday, July 24, unless otherwise noted. Charges for fitness, spa, in-room movies, internet, phone calls, golf or other recreation is not reimbursable.

  • Meals: 

    Meals not provided by the program are reimbursable with a daily limit, and original receipt. Credit card copies will be not be accepted. Reasonable meal expenses are defined as: up to $75.00 a day. When dining with other individuals, please indicate your portion of the expense only. Amounts over the daily limit for high cost cities will be considered on a case by case basis.

  • Guests:

    Reimbursement does not apply to family members or guests.

CME INFORMATION

The CME planning committee for this conference formulated the following objectives for the course. Your presentation should encompass these objectives:

  • Review common musculoskeletal ailments

  • Discuss updates in treating common orthopaedic injuries

  • Assess appropriate diagnostic imaging tests

  • Evaluate indications for referral to a specialist with regard to hip & knee disorders

  • Develop new approaches to relieve pain and improve function; specifically the painful shoulder

  • Evaluate existing therapies to enhance treatment

Content Validation:

All the recommendations involving clinical medicine in a CME activity evidence based.  All scientific research referred to, reported or used in CME in support or justification of a patient care recommendation must conform to the generally accepted standard of experimental design, data collection and analysis.

Standards for Commercial Support:

As a sponsor accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, the Foundation for Orthopaedic Research and Education must insure balance, independence, objectivity and scientific rigor in all sponsored or jointly sponsored educational activities.  All faculty participating in CME activities are expected to disclose to program participants any real or apparent conflict(s) of interest that have a direct bearing on the subject matter of CME activity.  This pertains to relationships with the pharmaceutical companies, biomedical device manufacturers or other corporations whose products/services are related to the subject matter of the educational topic including commercial supporter(s) of the activity.
