Dr. Mark A. Frankle Invited to Give Charles S. Neer Keynote Lecture

The Neer Lecture honors the legacy of Dr. Charles S. Neer II, whose pioneering work established many of the foundational principles of modern shoulder surgery. Dr. Frankle carries that legacy forward. Since 1992, he has led shoulder and elbow surgery at Florida Orthopaedic Institute, where he pioneered reverse shoulder arthroplasty in the United States and developed the lateralized center-of-rotation implant design now adopted by major manufacturers worldwide — a shift that has changed outcomes for patients across the globe. He holds more than 18 U.S. patents, has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications, and has spent decades in leadership roles within national and international orthopaedic societies.
As this year’s Neer Lecturer, Dr. Frankle will share the hard-won lessons behind that innovation — the survival and resistance that come before progress is ever recognized as progress.
