Program Highlights
What makes the FOI & FORE Spine Fellowship a premier training experience.
High-Volume Training
7,000+ outpatient visits and 1,300+ spine surgeries annually provide unmatched case volume across the full spectrum of spinal pathology.
Five Expert Surgeons
Train under five fellowship-trained attending spine surgeons — both orthopedic and neurological — each bringing diverse expertise and subspecialty focus.
Individualized Mentorship
Close mentorship ensures personalized training and ample one-on-one time in both clinical and operative settings to refine your surgical judgment.
FORE Research Support
Through FORE's dedicated research infrastructure — clinical researchers, biomedical engineers, and a statistician — fellows complete 1–2 publishable-quality projects during the fellowship year.
Structured Academics
Weekly ACCME-certified multidisciplinary spine conferences and monthly journal clubs ensure consistent academic engagement throughout the year.
National Spine Courses
Attend the Castellvi Spine Course in Duck Key, FL or the Selby Spine Course in Utah — travel and accommodations covered by the program.
Level 1 Trauma Exposure
Surgical training at Tampa General Hospital — a Level 1 Trauma Center — and AdventHealth facilities across the Tampa Bay area.
Collaborative Foundation
Jointly administered by FOI and FORE, this fellowship combines world-class surgical training with the educational and research infrastructure of a dedicated orthopaedic foundation.
Program Faculty & Staff
Fellowship-trained spine surgeons from FOI guiding fellows through the full spectrum of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar pathology alongside the academic and research resources of FORE.
