The Detroit Regional Sports Medicine Symposium is dedicated to a multiple specialty, multi-faceted approach to the treatment and prevention of sports related injuries. In the face of lifestayle changing issues or injuries, we strive to return every individual to abilities at or above pre-injury levels. We accomplish this goal for individuals and athletes of every age and skill level allowing them to lead healthy, active, injury-free lives.

This course provides the practicing hand surgeon with a comprehensive update on treatments for various hand and upper extremity surgery including arthroplasty, reconstruction, fracture care, care of the upper extremity in the pediatric patient, difficult problems in elbow surgery, and shoulder surgery for the hand surgeon. Learners will gain insight into both common and complex problems of the upper extremity, understand indications for surgery, therapy, outcomes of each, and potential complications of intervention. The course format is a mix of lectures, hands-on cadaveric labs, and engaging panel discussions.

This is a two and a half day CME symposium that focuses on comprehensive diagnosis, management and surgical treatment of orthopaedic diseases involving the foot and ankle. This course set out to deliver up-to-date in the specific topic areas of foot fractures, forefoot injuries and complications, reconstructions, deformity corrections, ankle arthritis, and soft tissue repairs. The course format consists of lectures, interactive panel discussions with audience, difficult case controversies and hands-on surgical and technique training in a cadaver lab setting. In the laboratory, physicians will have the opportunity to evaluate several state-of-the-art technologies such as: surgical navigation, powered instrumentation, and hand instruments.

The Selby Spine Conference is designed for surgeons with a special interest in the treatment of spinal disorders. The latest advances and controversies in the field will be presented through didactic lectures, open discussions, debates and case presentations. Selby Spine grew out of the Keystone Meeting that Dr. David Selby began in Keystone, Colorado in 1986.

This course is designed to provide the orthopaedic surgeon with a comprehensive update on treatments for various shoulder and elbow disorders including conservative care, arthroplasty, arthroscopy, and fracture management. The course format is a diverse combination of lectures, hands-on workshops and engaging panel discussions. A pre-course cadaveric lab provides advanced surgical techniques for TSA and RTSA surgical techniques for those registrants. A group of distinguished faculty will present their experience, techniques, and discuss individual cases. Ample time for question and answer sessions will be provided for participants to interact with faculty.

This course is designed to present advanced instruction for the management of orthopaedic fractures and injuries from initial evaluation and surgical technique through convalescence and rehabilitation. Emphasis will be placed on fracture care in the community practice environment.

The Atlanta Orthopaedic Symposium is designed for orthopaedic surgeons and other healthcare professionals to enhance surgeon competency and provide strategies for treatment and fracture management. A distinguished faculty will present the latest concepts and techniques in orthopaedics using didactic lectures, case presentations, and hands-on workshops.

Castellvi Spine is designed for surgeons and non-operative clinicians with specific interest in disorders of the spine. Distinguished faculty will present the latest advances in the field including complex reconstruction, artificial disc replacement, use of biologics, spine biomechanics, management of complications, treatment modalities for osteoporosis, and emerging technologies. There will be ample time for question and answer sessions, as well as special cadaveric labs.

Orthopaedic Research Day encompasses a day of judged oral presentations by the Florida Orthopaedic Institute Fellows. The conference is designed to allow young investigators the experience of presenting their own research work to their peers and to attending surgeons in a professional and supportive environment. This course also highlights the importance of orthopaedic research and the current areas of investigation within the subspecialties of orthopaedics.
