Learn how to diagnose and treat Dupuytren’s contracture, as well as appropriately bill for the procedures you perform, in a half-day workshop with orthopaedic surgeon Jason A. Nydick, DO, from the Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa, Florida.

 

This course is designed for orthopaedic surgeons, plastic surgeons, residents and fellows in either specialty, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners seeking to enhance their knowledge of Dupuytren’s contracture treatment.

 

Upon conclusion of this half-day activity, participants should be able to:

  • Diagnose, work up, and manage patients with Dupuytren’s contracture
  • Analyze and critique different solutions for the medical management of patients with Dupuytren’s contracture
  • Appraise and examine the consequences of different treatment plans leading to a care recommendation for patients with Dupuytren’s contracture
  • Understand how to manage complications and side effects associated with different treatment options for patients with Dupuytren’s contracture, such as collagenase clostridium histolyticum (CCH) injection, partial fasciectomy, and needle aponeurotomy
  • Prepare, set up, and perform standard clinic procedures and manage complications related to CCH injection, partial fasciectomy, and needle aponeurotomy

 

Educational Itinerary

 

7:00 AM-7:30 AM, Breakfast and Registration

 

7:30 AM-8:30 AM, Didactic Session: A structured lecture will provide an overview of Dupuytren’s contracture, including diagnosis, treatment options, and billing procedures.


8:30 AM-9:00 AM, Questions and Answers: participants will have the opportunity to clarify concepts and discuss insights during an interactive Q&A session led by Dr. Nydick.


9:00 AM-11:00 AM, Clinic Visit and Patient Cases: Participants will visit the clinic with Dr. Nydick to observe the various phases of care for Dupuytren’s contracture. Each patient will display unique aspects of the condition, providing attendees with real-world examples to enhance their understanding of clinical presentation, diagnosis, and management strategies.

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR

 

A board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, Jason A. Nydick, DO, specializes in disorders of the upper extremity. He holds a particular interest in trauma / fracture care and soft tissue reconstruction in the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. Dr. Nydick leads the Reconstructive Limb Loss Clinic at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute, which focuses on a multispecialty team approach to improving pain and function in patients who have upper or lower amputations.
